Recycle the fun this holiday season

Imagine how many empty toilet paper rolls are tossed after we’re done with them. The life of a toilet paper roll doesn’t have to end when all the toilet paper is used — the possibilities can be endless. This holiday season, grab the kiddos and start bringing those possibilities to life.

Not only are these toilet paper roll kids crafts a fun way to celebrate the holidays, but they’re a great lesson for kids on the importance of recycling.

Once you’ve made your snowflakes from the video tutorial above, try your hand at these other fun kids crafts, all made with the leftover cardboard you otherwise would have just tossed. Who knew toilet paper could be so crafty?

SAWS knows a thing about recycling

Just like you recycle cardboard, paper, plastic, and other materials, SAWS recycles water. At the Dos Rios Water Recycling Center, SAWS takes our used water and treats it, so it’s safe to use as recycled water across the city at places like golf courses, parks, and the River Walk. This innovative method helps us save more drinking water for the generations to come.
