Healthy and sustainable — it’s a win-win

When you grow your own fruits and veggies in your garden, you open yourself up to a world of culinary opportunities you never had before. South Texas is prime for growing your own fresh fruit where figs, citrus, peaches, and pears thrive. There’s no better way to enjoy the fruits of your labor than to mix yourself a tasty — and nutritious — smoothie using ingredients right from your yard.

Just like how SAWS diversifies its water supplies so it never has to rely on just one source, growing your own food will help your family have more options over what you eat. Sustainability means having a lifestyle that will continue for generations, and that’s exactly what SAWS is striving for with proactive water planning and conservation.
